A Zigbee2MQTT dashboard that talks directly to your own MQTT broker
Z2M Dash is a free, open-source Android dashboard for Zigbee2MQTT. It talks directly to your own MQTT broker, so there's no cloud account and no lock-in. Your whole setup can be saved to a single file, or shared between phones through the broker itself.
Dashboard
• Groups of clusters, each cluster holding the tiles for one device: sensor readings, on/off switches and one-press buttons (such as a blind's STOP).
• Sensor tiles with your own units and decimal places, and an optional ideal range that colours the tile when a reading is too low or too high.
• Switches show the device's real state, not just the last command sent.
• Presence and occupancy sensors show as Detected or Clear.
• Drag and drop to reorder groups, clusters and tiles, with undo. Lock Layout (on by default) stops accidental moves.
• Clusters are outlined when a device hasn't reported for over an hour (red), has a low battery (blue) or has a weak Zigbee signal (yellow). Clusters on rechargeable NiMH batteries only count as low at 5%.
• A filter menu shows only devices with a low battery or weak signal, or moisture sensors below or above their ideal range.
• Works on phones and Android TV.
Setup and sync
• Devices can describe their own tiles in a retained "/app" config message, so every phone on the same broker shows the same layout, and changes made on one phone reach the others.
• Discover Sensors scans a broker for readings and builds tiles for devices that don't have an "/app" config.
• A Permit Join bar lets new Zigbee devices join through any router, with a countdown.
• Multiple brokers over TCP, SSL, WS or WSS, including self-signed certificates.
• An optional background connection keeps readings and alerts live while the app is closed.
Alerts
• Smoke alerts from any device reporting smoke, with an optional loud alarm sound.
• Watering alerts, with a chime and vibration, when a moisture sensor rises through the middle of its ideal range.
• Low battery alerts showing the battery percentage.
Backup and debugging
• Export the whole configuration, or just the brokers, as a compressed file. Backups are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) by default.
• Restore everything, or merge in just the brokers.
• Or publish and restore a backup through a retained MQTT message, with no file to move.
• A live, filterable Terminal shows every MQTT message, for checking payloads and topics.
Optional online service
The "Import via code" button on the Add Broker screen uses sync.odiousapps.com, a credential relay run by the developer. You log in to that site and pick a saved credential, and the broker's hostname, username and password are passed back to the app through that server. Nothing is sent unless you tap the button and agree to continue, and brokers can always be entered by hand or imported from a file instead. The relay's source code is free software (Unlicense): https://github.com/evilbunny2008/MX3Launcher/tree/main/website
