MetaJammer

MetaJammer is a privacy-focused Android application designed to scramble, fake, or completely strip metadata from your media files. It provides users with total control over their digital footprint before sharing photos or videos online. Key Features: - Deep Metadata Stripping: Targets EXIF, XMP, GPS coordinates, hardware serial numbers, embedded thumbnails, PNG chunks, and SVG embedded metadata. - Metadata Poisoning & Profiles: Don't just remove data—confuse it. Generate highly realistic fake metadata with camera hardware profiles and instant location presets. - Granular Tag Controls: Selectively strip or preserve individual categories (GPS, Device, Date/Time, Camera Settings, Author/Comments). - Before / After Visual Diff: Inspect original vs. modified metadata side-by-side with color-coded status badges and tag filtering. - Metadata Preview: Inspect the existing metadata of your files before processing them to see exactly what information is being exposed. - Interactive Map Picker & Custom Presets: Visually choose a "fake" location on a 100% offline Compose vector world map with landmark presets and user-defined custom location presets. - Quick Scrub & Share: Standalone HUD activity to scrub and re-share files directly with zero overhead. - Background Batch Processing: Reliable processing for 50+ high-resolution files at once using Android WorkManager. - Multi-Format Support: Full compatibility with modern image formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIF/HEIC, SVG), video containers (MP4, MOV), and PDF documents (metadata stripping/poisoning and hidden annotation removal). Privacy & Security: - Zero Broad Permissions & Zero Network: The app requires NO storage or network permissions. It uses modern Scoped Storage, SAF, and an air-gapped local architecture. - 100% FOSS: Built entirely with Free and Open Source Software. No proprietary SDKs, trackers, or "phone-home" analytics. - Fail-Closed Processing: Processing failures abort immediately; unscrubbed files are never accidentally exported. - 100% Air-Gapped Privacy: The app requests NO internet permission (INTERNET completely removed). Map rendering and processing are 100% local, eliminating data exfiltration risks. - No Cloud Leaks: Android Auto-Backup is disabled to ensure unstripped metadata never leaves your device during processing. - Automatic Cleanup: All temporary processing residue and stale outgoing share caches are wiped automatically.
